Introduction:
The life of industrial workers is full of risks and dangers. Every year, lakhs of employees are injured in factories, mills, railway, ports etc. These lead to permanent handicaps .
Accidents are not only costly but also lower the morale of the workers. Accidents do not just happen But they are caused .so accidents should be prevented by following necessary safety measures.
Accident:
Accidents is defined as an occurrence in an industry causing bodily injury to a person which makes him unfit to resume his duties in the next 48 hours . It is an unexpected event.
Nature of Accidents:
The nature of an accident may vary from industry to industry. A worker may fall from height ,he may caught in a machine .
He may fall against a machine or he may strike against a pillar. These accidents may result in disablement or death.
Disablement:
This refers to the loss of ability to work. This may be partial or total .The disablement may be temporary or permanent.
Temporary partial disablement reduces the capacity of earning of the injured for some time after the accidents . Permanent partial disablement reduces the capacity of earning of the injured workers forever . Total disablement makes the injured unfit for any type of work. This may be temporary or permanent.
